GOOD DESIGN for the garden
ERGO™ automatic garden hose reel Cellfast is the winner of the GOOD DESIGN 2020 award.
This is Poland’s most important award in the field of design and innovation, which has been granted for almost 30 years by the Institute of Industrial Design.
Cellfast’s ERGO™ automatic retractor is a state-of-the-art device for storing garden hose in an aesthetically pleasing housing that can be hung on the wall of a building.
Thanks to the automatic retraction mechanism, the hose automatically retracts into the housing when pulled harder.
What sets this product apart in the market is its attention to safety.
Cellfast’s deployment technologists have incorporated a system that brakes the hose while it is being retracted .

The ERGO™ automatic hose reel was designed by the KABO&PYDO duo, who have been working with Cellfast for years.
The designers noticed that the market lacked products of this type that would be in harmony with the architecture, so they focused on designing a device that would not be flashy.
When working on the retractor, they combined all aspects of ergonomics, convenience of use with a minimalist, attractive design.
– The biggest challenge was to hide all protruding elements inside, says designer Tomasz Pydo.
In awarding the device, the jury of the GOOD DESIGN 2020 competition appreciated the manufacturer’s consistency in complementing the customer-acclaimed series of garden tools with further valuable elements.
The experts also noted that the retractor is stylistically consistent with the other products in the ERGO™ series, characterized by impeccable form and carefully crafted ergonomic details, which allow for its long-term and comfortable operation.
